Massage Therapy
Massage can benefit a multitude of conditions such as muscle spasms and pain, pain from spinal curvature like scoliosis, and pain and tension due to stress. It not only helps reduce swelling, but corrects posture, improves body movement, and certain massage techniques stimulate the release of toxins from the body through the lymphatic system.
The most common massage is the Swedish or light massage, which uses stroking, kneading, and friction techniques on the basic levels of the skin and muscles. Even though it is a light massage, it improves circulation, restores relaxation, and relief for achy muscles. Deep tissue massage uses direct pressure on deeper layers of muscle going against the grain of the muscles. It is most effect on lower back pain and chronically tense muscles.
