Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor

Hi, I’m Heather. I’m a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with nearly 20 years of experience working with children, teens, and families. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Dance Movement Therapy and my Master’s degree in Counseling and I’m also a certified School Counselor. Throughout my career, I’ve worked in inpatient behavioral health, community mental health, crisis counseling, and most recently schools. These experiences have helped me support kids and teens through some of life’s toughest moments.

I work to help kids and teens build coping skills, understand and regulate their emotions, and feel more confident and grounded in who they are. I base my counseling on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, strengths-based and solution-focused approaches. Because of my background in dance movement therapy, I also enjoy incorporating art, creativity, and movement into sessions when it feels helpful. I commonly work with kids and teens experiencing anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, trauma, grief, ADHD, executive functioning challenges, relationship struggles, and life transitions. I also have experience supporting youth in crisis and helping them find safer, healthier ways to cope.

My goal is for every client to leave therapy feeling supported, understood, and a little more confident and brave than when they walked in.

Outside of work, I’m usually busy being a soccer and dance mom to my two kids. I love reading, paddleboarding, traveling, and spending time with friends. We also have a rescue yellow lab named Bodie who is learning how to become a therapy dog. Just like the kids and teens I work with, he’s practicing new skills, learning how to stay calm, and figuring things out one step at a time.
