I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. My career interest in the counseling field began in 1985 when I was selected to be a peer counselor while I was in high school. I received a Bachelor’s degree cum laude in Psychology in 1992 and began working at a Residential Treatment Center/ Therapeutic Day School where I became the Supervisor of the Partial Hospitalization Program. I also was trained in Applied Behavior Analysis through Lovaas in 1994 while working in homes of children diagnosed with autism. I earned my Master’s degree in Social Work in 1996 becoming a member of The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi. I have been working in the educational system since 1996 counseling students in all grade levels including the transition program from high school to young adulthood, meeting with families, and coordinating with community service agencies. I received my certification to be a LCSW in 1999. I have been employed part-time at The Therapy Tree since 2012 developing and facilitating individual, couples, family, and group therapy objectives. I have also learned a variety of techniques when assisting professors with research projects and doing virtual and in-person crisis work for large scale communities.
I feel very fortunate to spend time counseling children, adolescents, and adults over the past 30 years. Many of my clients have described me as their “life coach.” I am here to recognize the progress and provide strength-based support and encouragement to reach healthy goals that bring peace to your thoughts and keep balance in your lives. I am passionate about providing multi-model, research-based strategies that can empower you to build a positive and resilient approach to effectively problem solve through your life experiences. I specialize in the following areas: anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, autism spectrum, family conflict, functional behavioral assessments, life transitions, anger management, crisis intervention, social communication deficits, and behavior modification.
