I have been working as a speech language pathologist for 18 years, and I love my job. I graduated from Marquette University located in Milwaukee Wisconsin with both my Bachelors and Masters Degrees. I had been a computer science major and did not like it. So, I walked into the speech and hearing center one Friday afternoon, Dr. Trotter the Department head at the time, took me on a tour, set me up to sit in on a few classes. I was hooked. I hold Department of Professional Regulation and Professional Educator Licenses in both Illinois and Wisconsin. During my years I have worked with all ages but love working with children helping them to learn the power of communication. It is so fun to see the excitement on both a child and parents face, when a child who is working on a skill uses it for the first time. I enjoy all aspects of speech and language skills, including articulation, vocabulary, grammar, and social language skills. I attend continuing education on a regular basis to continuing learning. I tell my clients everyone has to learn something new each day.
I am very happy to be at The Therapy Tree working with clients’ preschool through high school. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. It is a pleasure to share client progress after each session, and help families continue to increase their child’s communication skills.
