Knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom. - Aristotle

May is Better Hearing & Speech month!

We are thrilled to provide helpful tips to help the kids that you love become great readers, speakers, and thinkers!

Speech Tips 2016

Tip #1

Make sure to read 20 minutes every day with your child. Setting aside those brief minutes not only help increase brainpower, vocabulary, and language skills but also strengthens your bond.

Tip #2

Set the Stage! Before you begin reading, discuss what you read yesterday and what might happen next. Take turns reading aloud; children like to play an active role in reading! Read more from our Raise a Reader Booklet by clicking here.

Tip #3

This video shows how complex and intricate is the “library catalogue” in our brain. The variety of words mapped or stored in multiple areas of the brain mirror strategies we use in speech and language therapy for building associations about words to increase word finding, expand variety of vocabulary, and expand detail and complexity of verbal and written expression.
