There are several foods and spices that can be therapeutic, however, always check with your physician before making major changes to your diet. All whole, natural foods have restorative values. Below is a list of some and their benefits.
Garlic: Reduction of cholesterol and triglycerides; preventing clots; reducing blood pressure; and enhancing immune function
Ginger: Relaxation of intestinal tract; prevent motion sickness; and relieve nausea and vomiting
Soy: Helps reduce blood fats by boosting thyroid hormone levels. Soybeans are said to be excellent at reducing cancer risk.
Carrots: Eaten raw, they are efficient colon cleansers.
Cruciferous vegetables: Such as bok Choy, collards, kale, broccoli, cauliflower, mustard greens, brussels sprouts, radishes, and turnips help activate liver detoxification enzymes. They also contain anticancer and antioxidant vitamins.
Citrus fruits: Help prevent abnormal blood clots; lower blood pressure; lower cholesterol levels.
Tomatoes: Contain an antioxidant capable of protecting the body against many degenerative diseases, including prostate, cervical, and gastrointestinal cancers.
Mushrooms: Help promote health and longevity; have an immune-boosting effect
Legumes: Such as peas and beans are rich in fiber; lower cholesterol levels; help fight against the development of diabetes.
